Bio

Personal

A great passion of mine is nature. So much about life can be learnt by just observing nature at work. Its different seasons, its rhythm of night and day. If I am not walking or hiking in nature, then I am sitting and absorbing the beauty before me, either through my eyes or through my camera.
Family and faith are integral to my existence and provide the foundation from which I flourish. I have lived life to its fullest, making the most of every opportunity, even the tragedies. Loss when embraced can become the substance for new beginnings.

Community

Essentially a people person, I have spent most of my life working or volunteering within the community services sector. I have enjoyed being an aged care worker (11 yrs), a student counsellor (6 yrs) and an accredited Chaplain serving in hospitals and disaster recovery (8 yrs).
​I have volunteered in homeless shelters, drug rehab and emergency assistance, as well as running a variety of community groups.
​I have come to appreciate that everyone has a story to tell that's worth listening to.

Professional

My love of learning has ensured a lifelong pursuit of knowledge and wisdom, gleaned from both life experience and formal study. Consequently I am able to bring into the clinical setting many of my life experiences such as pregnancy loss, long term unemployment, cancer and anxiety.
My social science degree was in fact a direct result of sudden retrenchment.
​Reinventing oneself, although challenging, opens up a raft of new possibilities that keeps life exciting and engaging.
